Hosts Jim Sims and Delia Alexander welcome distinguished Indiana University professors Dr. Mellonee Burnim and Dr. Portia Maultsby in a discussion of their most recent collaborative work "African-American Music: An Introduction", a collection of 30 essays by 25 different authors that took approximately five years to complete.  They discuss the contents of the 700-page volume and its contribution to historical and issue-based scholarship on the musical heritage of African-Americans. This week's musical break spotlights "poet warrior" Jolivette Anderson, a literary performance artist in Lafayette, Indiana currently researching black migration while working full-time as an arts administrator at the Purdue University Black Cultural Center.  A new edition of "My Health Matters" features tips from Dr.
