WFHB has suffered an equipment failure in the past couple of days that has resulted in interference with its primary frequency, 91.3 FM.
"At times listeners heard severe static, while at other times another station's broadcast was bleeding into 91.3," said station manager Will Murphy.
While evaluating the problem and awaiting the necessary equipment to make repairs, WFHB engineer Jeffrey Morris took the main transmitter off-line, which in turn disabled translators carrying the signal in Ellettsville and Nashville. "Listeners should still be able to stream our signal through our Web site, and should be able to hear us via 98.1 FM as well," Murphy said.
"We hope to be up and running again on all frequencies by late Friday or early in the weekend," Murphy said. "We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank all the listeners who have called to let us know they miss hearing their favorite programs on WFHB."
