WFHB members elect three directors

Participating members of Bloomington Community Radio (WFHB) have elected three members to their board of directors. At their annual June meeting, members elected Brown County resident Pam Raider, Bloomington Realtor Suzette Weakley, and Monroe County businessman Kirby Thompson to three-year terms on the organization’s board.  Raider will be serving her first full term on the board, after being appointed to serve last year.  “These directors bring a wide range of experience, expertise, and contacts to the organization,” said WFHB General Manager Will Murphy.  “I will be depending on them and their fellow directors to help take WFHB to the next level in the coming year. We have a lot of challenges, but that means a lot of opportunities.” Other members of the nine-member board include Bloomington veterinarian Carolyn VandeWiele (President), consultant Tomas Beauchamp (Secretary), Indiana University law professor Mark Need, Monroe County Convention and Visitors Bureau director Mike McAfee, IU computer systems administrator Duane Schau, and Kelley School MBA candidate Jonathon Schuster (Treasurer). McAfee and Schuster were recently appointed to fill the unexpired terms of Bloomington businesswoman Sheryl Woodhouse Keese and Landlocked Music owner Jason Nickey. “We have a lot of big projects on our plate this year,” Murphy said. “Digital conversion and recruitment of an audio theatre festival to Bloomington are just a couple of the plans we have on the drawing board this year. Pam, Suzette, and Kirby will be critical to the success of those efforts.” Bloomington Community Radio is a volunteer-driven organization providing diverse music, news, and public affairs programming to south-central Indiana since 1993. The station draws on the talents of nearly 200 volunteers.  The station is heard at 91.3 and 98.1 in Bloomington, 106.3 in Ellettsville, and 100.7 in Nashville.
