WFHB has a two-hour live show coming up Friday, March 27, at 8pm at the Buskirk-Chumley, and we in the cast, staff and production crew are scared whatever-less that there will be Empty Seats.Please, PLEASE, cajole, threaten, beg, whatever it takes for your fellow FHB supporters and friends to come to this show--which will be a very good show, and I am unanimous in this--tell them to tell their ex-spouses, their ex-spouses friends and pets and people they meet on the streets. Tell them it's time for them to have a good time, and to see what community radio can do that no other media in town can come close to.Our out-of-town musicians for this show are Jeni & Billy -- Jeni Hankins and Billy Kemp -- from Nashville, Tennessee. They're a lot like Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, with Jeni as the primary writer and singer and Billy as the player. Jeni writes some stunning songs and has the old-style mountain voice that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.We also have a fine house band fronted by Dennis Riggins, and we have our own Cathi Norton, in addition to the fine vocals of Art Heckman and the singing and playing of Jason Fickel, and, of course, the Fire House Gospel Singers. Not to mention Arbutus Cunningham.
