Jayme Stone & Mansa Sissoko
Africa to Appalachia
“Searching for the banjo’s living ancestors, Canadian virtuoso Jayme Stone went on a musical Mecca to expose himself to the life and lore of Africa” (rock-paper-scissors). This album is the result of his experiences and collaboration with Malian griot singer, Mansa Sissoko. It’s an album, “immersed in sound and rhythm.” They are scheduled to perform at Lotus 2008.

Nine Heavens
Niyaz is: elegant vocalist Azam Ali who co-founded Vas in 1996, Loga Ramin Torkian, a multi-instrumentalist “whose group Axiom of Choice brought the ancient sounds of Persian classical music to Western listeners in the 1990’s,” (6 ) and producer Carmen Rizzo. CD 1 integrates electronic programming and trance rhythms while CD 2 is the acoustic version of those same songs, which are beautiful resonations of Persian and Turkish instrumentation.
