Indiana University sociology professor Brian Powell discusses his new book "COUNTED OUT: Same Sex Relations and Americans’ Definitions of Family". Powell talks about his study examining the changing American attitudes about family and definitions of what constitutes a family. His research reflects a more accepting and open social environment that includes a broadening of family unit definitions that increasingly includes same-sex marriages.
