Helen and Sean chat with published author, editor, poet, and long-time bisexual rights activist Lani Ka’ahumanu. Noted for the groundbreaking anthology, Bi Any Other Name: Bisexual People Speak Out listed on the Top 100 Queer Books of the 20th Century by Lambda Book Review that she and her friend Loraine Hutchins co-edited in 1991. Lani gives an in depth historical over view of the events, protests and legislation related to bisexuality during the past 40 years and brings a legitimacy to a sexual identity that is often dismissed as nonexistent or irrelevant by not only the straight community but that of the LGTQI as well. A native of San Francisco Lani is currently a safe sex educator and is hard at work on writing her activist memoir.
