Indiana Black Expo celebrates the achievements and encourages the empowerment of African-Americans in the Hoosier state. The IBE summer celebration in Indianapolis draws hundreds of thousands of people to its many exhibits and symposiums. Vice president of the Indianapolis IBE chapter Vernon Williams joins us by phone to discuss this year's events. Also in this program: a new edition of our wellness segment "My Health Matters", produced in partnership with Bloomington Hospital, exploring health issues of particular importance to the African-American community. Our featured musical artist are The Wailers, Bob Marley’s legendary backing band. On the current leg of their U.S. tour The Wailers are introducing their new lead vocalist Koolant, who sings with bandmate Duane Stephenson on “A Step for Mankind”, a new song written to benefit the World Food Programme. Philanthropy is now a part of The Wailers' legacy, donating portions of every show’s proceeds to a foundation they created called I Went Hungry which works to fight child starvation. As always, Bring It On! features regional and national news and a regional calendar highlighting events relevant to the local African-American community. Hosted by Clarence Boone and Michael Nowlin.
