Just days after WFHB reported on the latest developments in a challenge to his candidacy, Kevin Suddeth held a press conference today to outline his goals as the GOP candidate for State Representative District 61. Speaking this afternoon outside the Monroe County Courthouse, Suddeth outlined his primary campaign issue: creating and retaining local jobs. On Friday we heard from local voter Lorraine Farrell, who is challenging the eligibility of Suddeth to run for state representative against incumbent Matt Pierce. Her objection was dismissed last week by the Indiana Election Commission on a technicality; the commission was unable to gather enough members to hear the case by a deadline set forth by state law. Farrell said the chain of events began when Suddeth announced his candidacy prior to voting in the primary using a provisional ballot. That ballot was thrown out when it was discovered that he wasn’t registered to vote in Monroe County. Suddeth campaign manager Skip Daley offered a rebuttal as we go on-location to the courthouse in this WFHB radio exclusive.
