Dalai Lama: Meet the Press

The full unedited audio from the ONLY press conference given by Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama during his 15-day visit to the United States in May 2010. Recorded live at the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana, after two days of teachings in the city his late brother called home. While several media outlets recorded his remarks, only WFHB set up a multi-mike mix to create this exclusive audio track.
NOTE: During this press conference, our nine-year-old cub reporter Kai Grise asks the Dalai Lama about the Chinese occupation of Tibet, a question some media outlets framed as "stumping" the Lama because he did not answer it. Not true; he simply chose not to do so in front of the cameras. After the conference, the Dalai Lama approached the child, stroked his face, and told him he believes Kai will see a change in China and in the world in his lifetime.
