Losing To Win: The 2010 Energy Challenge

Most people want to become more energy efficient, but it's hard finding the time and the motivation. That's why the Southern Indiana Renewable Energy Network (SIREN) held a contest over the last year challenging local residents to see how much energy they could save. The contest began on January 1st 2009, and the overall winner was announced last month - the Bessler family from Bloomington, who managed to reduce their energy consumption by 46%. Later in the program Woody Bessler talks about how he and his family became energy efficient, and how ordinary people can save money AND the planet.  A WFHB radio exclusive recorded on-location at the Monroe County Public Library on January 12, 2011, hosted by SIREN founding member Terry Usrey.
