On Saturday the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act. It’s now up to the Senate to come up with their own plan and then work with the House on a joint bill. H.R. 3962 would not have passed without a major concession: an amendment stating that abortion would not be covered as a medical procedure under the so-called public option.
